2014 Goals and Resolutions

It's official!  2014 is here.  To celebrate, I'm joining up with Jessica today over at First Grade Nest to share my 2014 Goals and Resolutions with you.  Maybe if I write them down, I'll actually achieve them!

Professional goal for my career:

Increase student engagement!  I have spent a large portion of my vacation reading professional books to help me become a better teacher in my 5th grade classroom.  Stop by later this week to see some of my reviews of these books!

Professional goal for my blog:

As I increase engagement in the classroom, I'm hoping to share what that looks like with all of you!  My goal is to work more efficiently.  Sometimes I get online and get a tad distracted...anyone else have that problem??

To spend less time with technology.  Since my blog goal is to work more efficiently, I am hoping to spend less time on the computer/phone/etc in order to spend more time in the real world.

Vegas!  We have done a lot of traveling in the past two years, so this year is definitely going to be a lot calmer.  However, I'm hoping to visit Vegas for the TpT conference in July.  Fingers crossed!

Vegetables.  Yes, that's right.  I am a super picky eater and I don't eat veggies.  None of them.  Yes, I am an awful person.  I have already started though!  I have been adding spinach to my smoothies the past few days.  Baby steps.

Photoshop.  This has definitely been on my to-do list for a long time.  I love to take photos and want to learn how to edit my pictures to make them even better!

Senseless spending.  I want to be more aware of my finances and only purchase items that I really need.  I will also be using coupons as much as possible and hitting up store sales!

I so want to hit a TpT milestone this year!  I am getting very close.  When I started this ride 2 years ago, I had no idea where it would take me.  The fact that someone wanted to use my products in their classroom simply amazed me.  I am so glad that I have been able to help students learn and educators teach.  Thank you!

Happy New Year!

P.S. ~ This HUGE bundle of best-selling products from top Grades 2-3 sellers is on sale over at Educents!  It's 78% off {I just love a great deal} and is a great way to jumpstart your planning for 2014!

  4. I just had to chuckle when I read you wanted to start eating veggies! I am a total vegetarian (no meat, fish, chicken), but there are SO many vegetables I don't like . It's so hard to be a picky vegetarian!
Wishing you a Happy New Year!
