Five for Friday {July 18}

It's Friday, so I'm sharing 5 random photos from my week with Doodle Bugs Teaching linky!  {these cute numbers are from Ron Leishman Digital Toonage}

It has begun.  I still have a month and a half but the school shopping has already started!  Seriously, I love to shop for school supplies.  I hate shoe shopping.  I hate clothes shopping.  Not a fan of food shopping.  School supplies is where it's at.  I stopped by the Target Dollar Spot {of course} and picked up a map, a book on the Constitution and some pretty cool sticker sets.

I had my blog redone before I headed to Vegas and purchased some coordinating business cards.  I LOVE them!  However, I realized after I ordered 1,000 of them and passed some out in Vegas...I have the wrong Pinterest link on there!  Follow me here to make me feel better!

One week ago today, I was here!  The conference was amazing.  I shared my favorite parts here and be on the lookout for a post on what I learned!

Speaking of school supplies, the Really Good Stuff catalog has been sitting on my desk and I really want to get new book bins for my classroom.  I like the neon colored ones.  What do you think, do I need them??

 I uploaded two new products this week and one is free!  I'm getting ready for my first week of school and these are some of the activities that I do with my students.

First, they create a brochure that highlights one of their favorite parts of their vacation.  It's a great way to get to know my students and what is important to them.  It's perfect for the first week of school before we delve into our lessons.  They also make a nice display in my classroom for open house and parent conferences.  Check it out here!

 I also have my students write me a letter.  In the letter, they tell me about themselves and their habits as a learner.  I also give them the opportunity to ask me questions about my life as well as about our class.  They are so much fun to read!  You can grab this activity here!

Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. I need new book bins SO bad! The custodians made a mess of my dollar store ones this summer...a bunch are cracked :( Have you tried the RGS ones yet? I'm wondering how sturdy they are...especially since I'll be needing a LOT! Love your back to school letter activity!

  2. I love the Target Dollar Spot! Your blog design is adorable, too. I'm new to blogging and have been thinking of a new design for Literacy Loving Gals (I partner up with others on the blog). Designs by Kassie looks like a great starting point. Thanks for sharing your ideas and freebie! ;)

  3. I love that you are buying bins. I included comments about that on my blog post today! Why do we need so many. However, what a great resource in that catalog! We were looking for a dark blue earlier in the summer and could not find any! Thanks for sharing!
