Did you get a chance to check out this month's Bright Ideas Blog Hop this weekend???

I didn't participate this month {having a newborn at home = less time for blogging}, but there are some seriously great ideas!  This hop never ceases to amaze me.  Over 150 bloggers coming together to share their best classroom tricks, all in one place.

To get started, check out Teaching in the Early Year's post.  At the end of her post there are links to everyone else's wonderful ideas.  I've been hopping for two days and still haven't read them all yet!

Here are the links to the previous hops as well:

I hope you discover some great ideas that can be put to great use in your classroom!  Enjoy the hop and let us know what you think!

It's no secret.  I'm a Pinterest addict.  I can spend hours browsing through pins that I can use in my classroom.  It's also great in a pinch, when I need an idea quickly.  One search and so many results!

Right now, I'm up to 64 boards on my Pinterest page.  That's a lot!  Many are school-related - reading, writing, social studies, etc.  I know that it has made me a better teacher.  It's like being able to peek into classrooms all over the world, without leaving your home.

As I am starting to prepare for next school year, I started to browse my Pinterest boards.  I realized that I have pinned so many great ideas but many of them tend to get lost in the bottom of a board and I never end up using them.  That's when the lightbulb went on!

I created a new board called 2014-2015 Classroom.  Then I went through my educational boards and pinned only the ideas that I want to use next year to this board.  I made it a secret board since I was just re-pinning ideas.

Once my board seemed complete (for now), I printed it.  This allows me to slide it into my plan-book so that I can refer to it at anytime.  If I need to, I can always hop onto Pinterest to get more information about a specific pin.

I also cut up some of the pages and strategically placed them in my plan-book.  For example, this is an idea for the 10oth day of school.  I know that I won't need that idea until February, so it went in my book for that month.  That way, I will be sure to use the idea at the right time!

To sum up, I love Pinterest!  Click here to read another post on how I use Pinterest to help guide my instruction.
Happy Friday!  How many more Fridays do you have until the end of the year??  I know some of you are getting super close!

1.  I am super excited!  I have moved back into my office.  This poor room has been pretty neglected since Christmas.  First, I threw out my shoulder and wasn't able to use the computer.  As soon as that cleared up, I was put on bed rest for the last 2 months of my pregnancy.  I spent a lot of quality time on the couch.  Then Baby C was born!  Now that we are into a routine and I seem to be getting this Mommy thing, I am back in my office.  I love this room!

2. I read the book, Wonder, back in February.  It's an amazing read!  Now I am re-reading it with my teacher hat on.  I am hoping to create a unit to use in my classroom next year!

3.  I won some binders!  I am super obsessed with binders.  I use them all the time in my classroom.  I follow Teacher's Market, which is a blog that posts about all sorts of giveaways that teachers might like.  I entered this giveaway from Samsill and won!

4. My baby girl is one month old already!  I can't believe it.  We are so love and I can't even imagine life without her now.

5. Speaking of having a one month old...when you have one, there's not a lot of extra time on your hands.  And sometimes you forget things.  Like the TpT sale, for example.  I completely forgot to put items in my cart and check-out during the sale!  I am so excited about some of these products, though, that I am still going to purchase them!

Have a great weekend!

It's gonna be May!  It sure doesn't feel like it in New England, but I'll trust what the calendar says.  It's time to link up with Farley's Currently!

Listening...to the Today Show.  I love getting my news and random trivia from this show every morning.  I can't watch it when I'm in school since I leave before it comes on, but I've been enjoying it while on maternity leave. I might also be listening to some dog barking and baby crying the background as well...

Loving...that my brothers are home for the weekend!  They moved to Atlanta in September and I've only seen them once since then.  So excited to spend so much time with them and introduce them to our new daughter!  I miss them so much, but know that they have much better career opportunities where they are.

Thinking...that it's been 10 years since the Friends finale?!?  This is an example of the random trivia I get from The Today Show.  If you know anything about me, it's that I LOVE the show Friends!  I get teased endlessly, but I still DVR it and watch it everyday!

Wanting...to go for a walk.  After being on bed rest for 2 months, I'm loving that I can get up and go for a walk with the baby and dog now.  Just waiting for the sun to come out!

Needing...to get some errands done.  Can I do it by myself with the baby???  We've only ventured out solo once.  It was a success, so I'm thinking I can do it!

Surprise!  I just discovered Ramona Recommends through her Instagram and I'm loving her blog!  Check her out!
